International buyers preferably purchase certified products as consumers are quality conscious. So export without certification of products by accredited Certification Bodies is no more valuable. Keeping in view the fact, Punjab Agriculture & Meat Company took initiative and the then CEO Dr. Hamid Jalil lay down the idea on papers to fill this gap. And Chief Minister Punjab Mian Shehbaz Sharif approved “Punjab Halal Development Cell” on 27th June, 2012 to work further. On Punjab Halal Development Cell‘s recommendations‚ CM Punjab approved “Punjab Halal Development Agency” on 06 November‚ 2012 under the administrative control of Livestock & Dairy Development Department‚ Govt of Punjab and secretariat support by Punjab Agriculture & Meat Company headed by learned Shariah Scholar Justice (Retd) Khalil-ur-Rehman Khan.


PHDA, Government of Punjab, has initiated to promote Halal Industry of Pakistan worldwide maintaining International standards, for this Livestock Department vows to introduce Halal Standards for Livestock, Beverages, By-products, cosmetics and other edibles etc. These steps will build trust on Pakistani‘s products and export volume will increase.
